Thankful for YOU this Thanksgiving!
The Thanksgiving season always has us thinking about the many things in our lives we are grateful for. We are grateful for our donors, our volunteers, and our community of Green Lake who all went above and beyond to ensure that our festival was a success. We are grateful for our wonderful venues; Caestecker Library, Thrasher Opera House, the American Legion, and Green Lake Town Square. Most importantly, we are thankful to our crew, our filmmakers, our panelists, and all of those who made it possible to tell the many “stories that inspire.”
Speaking of…did you know following Thanksgiving, after Black Friday, there is Giving Tuesday? This year, Giving Tuesday is December 3rd. It is a global generosity movement that was created in 2012 as a simple idea which encourages people to do good. Over the past 7 years, this idea has grown into a global movement that (wait for it…) “inspires” millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity. We are taking a leap of faith that this year, you might consider giving to Freeland Film Festival to support our 2020 event next September. You may donate online through our Facebook, or mail a check to PO Box 522 Green Lake, WI 54941.
We have received a few grant awards, but are not able to disclose until after December 4th. Stay tuned as it is pretty awesome! We do have fundraising events planned for 2020, which includes a Wine Walk (It’s wine o’clock somewhere), a movie night (The Biggest Little Farm), and much more. It’s never too soon to start fundraising, while promoting our film festival! We are planning on taking it to the road, which will include Princeton and Ripon events, so that we can grow our audience AND collaborate more locally. Our goal is to grow locally AND regionally…to infinity and beyond 🙂
So, on behalf of Freeland, we wish you a meaningful Thanksgiving holiday, filled with special stories you can share.
